Baby Schedule Basics

How routines help babies sleep and eat better

Why Routines Help

A consistent daily rhythm helps regulate the baby's sleep-wake cycle and feeding patterns. A routine is not a rigid schedule. It is a predictable sequence the baby's body learns to follow.

The Feed-Play-Sleep Cycle

Feed when the baby wakes up, not before sleep. Then have awake time for interaction. Watch for tired cues: yawning, rubbing eyes, fussing. Put the baby down at the first signs of tiredness.
