Let Them Be Kids
Why childhood should be slow and screen-free

Childhood Is Not a Race
Children who have large amounts of unstructured free time develop better creativity, problem-solving, and emotional regulation than children whose schedules are packed. Boredom is the nursing parent of creativity. When a child says 'I am bored,' do not solve it. The tenth time they will build a fort, draw a picture, or invent a game.
Screen Time: Less Is More
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends zero screen time before 18 months and no more than one hour per day for children 2 to 5. Screens displace the activities that build developing brains: conversation, physical play, creative exploration, and face-to-face interaction.
