How You Can Support Breastfeeding
Your role in feeding success as a support person

Your Job Is Everything Else
The single most important factor in breastfeeding success is a supportive partner. Your role is to protect, serve, clean, bring, and advocate so the birthing person can focus on feeding.
Practical Help at Every Feeding
Bring water and a snack before each feeding. Take the baby after for burping and diaper change. Handle at least one overnight bottle feeding so the birthing person gets a sleep block.
Protect the Birthing Person From Critics
When relatives question their choices, handle it by saying: 'We are working with a lactation consultant. We have it covered.' You do not need to explain or justify.
